http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/458014
The lyrics sell for £421,250 which is over $800,000 US
Background:>
Gail Renard, now 55 and living in London, obtained the lyrics -- scrawled on a piece of cardboard in black magic marker -- during Lennon's bed-in for peace at Montreal's Queen Elizabeth hotel in 1969.
Renard was 16 when she managed to sneak into the bed-in. She says Lennon took an immediate liking to her and gave her the lyrics himself.
