A 100 win season is quite an accomplishment for any team. Will it happen this year, and if so, will more than one team hit the century mark in victories?
CATEGORY EDITOR UPDATE
Teams in the running, as of Wed:
Tampa Bay Rays - 95 wins, with 5 games left (yeah, seems unlikely but they've won 5 of their last 6 and are facing 2 teams who've won less than 50% of their games)
Los Angeles Angels - 97 wins, with 5 games left (the Angels have also won 5 of the their last 6)
Chicago Cubs - 95 wins, with 6 games remaining (the Cubs have won 4 of their last 6 games)
All 3 teams have clinched a playoff birth spot and would like to end on a strong note.
So, who can pull it off?!

It's going to take a .620 winning percentage to achieve 100 wins based on a 162 game season. As of 6/28 only 4 teams are within credible striking distance. None of the four teams currently have a win% greater than .613 and that's the Cubs. This is a good teaser question like some of the proposition bets you would find in Vegas. Yea, I just took the bait and bet on it.
(9/11) The Angels have the best record at 88-57, but even that means they'd need to win 12 of their last 17 games. Eight of their remaining games are against Seattle (with a dismal 57-87 record), three are against Oakland, and six are against Texas. If they sweep Seattle twice, they'd only need to win four of the nine games against the other two teams.
For even one team, ie the Angels (owners of the best record in baseball), to win 100 games they'd have to play better than .900 ball the rest of the season. They currently have 92 wins with 11 games remaining, needing 8 wins to reach 100.
I can't see it.

have to do. Dig into your brain for everything you know about the Most Valuable Player award in baseball ... and delete it. Forget what you know about the MVP. Forget what you think. Forget everything you've ever read, heard or considered, because all of

This could become exciting if 1 of the 2 other teams goes on a win streak!
