How does one define a "clear front runner"? Unless there is a tie among the delegates, there will be a "clear front runner"...

Will this question be treated as just "Will Al Gore declare his candidacy by Thursday, February 4?"

Certainly, if he doesn't declare his candidacy by the deadline (Feb. 5, not Feb. 4), the question will be settled and the correct answer will be "No". The preamble was simply a way to set the stage.

After the situation on the Edwards question, I think this question is liable to be a void for a couple of reasons:
(1) There is no definition of what a "clear front runner" is
(2) It is not clear what happens if the pre-condition is not met. If a pre-condition isn't met I believe the question should be settled as void because it is impossible to settle that question (this is actually referred to in Q6 of the Questions section of the FAQs)

Thoughts?

Even if there is no clear front-runner, enough delegates will be "in play" that a new candidate wouldn't have a chance anyway.

i'd agree with nigeleccles
if A then B is FALSE when A is FALSE regardless of the value of B
in this case though it seems the writer was just asking if Gore would run by wednesday

It is stupid questions like this that makes hubdub pointless. This question started at 50/50, and there is no way Gore can just enter the race tomorrow. So all this question does is give the people huge amount of dub money for a zero risk investment.

Question voided as "no clear front runner" has come out of the Super Tuesday race. Also voided due to the reasons stated above by Nigel.
