COFEE - Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor

Microsoft Helps Police Crack Your Computer

"Microsoft has developed a small plug-in device that investigators can use to quickly extract forensic data from computers that "may have been used in crimes." It basically bypasses all of the Windows security (decrypting passwords, etc.) in order to eliminate all that pesky privacy when the police have physical access to your computer. Just one more reason not to run Windows on your computer."

Muhahaha - oh the pranks I could play on family, friends and coworkers if I had one of these bad boys in my hands

I'm sure security on these will be TIGHT!!!

But incentive to steal one of these HUGE. A hacker could possibly use one of these to crack what little security Windows has left. If it can't be cracked or figured out, I'm guessing it would still be dangerous in the wrong hands.

I was tempted to set the odds at 50-50.

I'm sure Bush's NSA has been using something like this through the phone companies for 7 years now.

So the lesson here is: If you're going to use your computer in criminal activities, break all of the USB connections with a pair of needle nose pliers, because the police now rely on them instead of good-old police work. NICE JOB Mr. Gates....

Lesson 2: If you're going to use your computer to commit criminal acts, don't be a cheapskate: BUY A MAC. Thanks, Mr. Gates

and Lesson #3: If you're using a computer in your commission of criminal activities, Uninstall Windows and use Linux: The cops don't know the first thing about it. Thanks, Mr. Gates.... you've successfully screwed Microsoft out of sales to the Mafia, Terrorist organizations, Waste Management, and most US politicians...

How does one know that Mircosoft hasn't already lost one, and just haven't announced it?
posted 19 weeks ago
@gluckman - You are correct... if one is lost or stolen prior to 2009 we may never hear about it. Per the background details, "Will a major mainstream news source report that one of these devices have been lost or stolen prior to 2009?", this will settle as YES if it's reported and NO if there are no reports.
