yes....go forth and be defeated. Although it probably won't be as ugly as when they last lost the Superbowl; to the Ravens in 2001 (.....happy days!)

I think the Giants can do it. They are the team with greater momentum.

Momentum? Which team hasn't lost a single game this year?

Everyones luck runs out...I say New England's luck has ran it's course.

As I say on all these questions, I will be suspending predictions before the game starts

I'd say Randy Moss breaks out of his slump and the Pats win by about 10

GO PATS!!!

Randy Moss isn't in a slump, they just haven't used him the same way in the past two games.

I for one put more H$ on the Patriots when the odds got out of whack. If they dip again, I'll put another hundred on.

Where does this 12 to 13 point spread come from? When they met in the regular season it was a 3 point game. I'm a Pats fan, but give me 13 points and I'd have to place a bet on the Giants.

you should weigh in on the question @ getsatisfaction by clicking help then the getsatisfaction link the question there is:

"Should Hubdub insiders who settle questions be allowed to make predictions?

To date, Hubdub staff who settle questions have also participated in making predictions on those and other questions. We have strived to be as objective as possible on every settlement and settlements are regularly cross-checked. However some users perceive that this conflict of interest may cause us to incorrectly settle questions for our benefit. We can change the rules to:
(1) No restriction (status quo)
(2) No predicting on questions within their category
(3) No predicting on any questions

Thoughts?

are there going to be any bets on the Super Bowl that stay open during the game? I thought I read that they were going to allow this for the Super Bowl only, but this one for instance closes 3+ hrs before the game starts

This question will remain open during the Super Bowl

I was more impressed by the Giants opening drive, but the Pats got a TD on theirs....hmmm?

Once again, you guys really need to decide what you're going to do, and stick to it. This "changing your minds" has become a pattern.

Six days ago donal said in these comments:

"As I say on all these questions, I will be suspending predictions before the game starts

"I'd say Randy Moss breaks out of his slump and the Pats win by about 10
-- posted 6 days ago"

The Settlement Details say:

"Settlement rules: per NFL.com

"will be suspended prior to game"

To later decide (four hours before the game) to reverse the Settlement Instructions -- and previous decisions from an Admin, dilutes the integrity and authority of all Admin Comments ... and adds fuel to the user feeling that Admin decisions are arbitrary and capricious.

In my view, leaving this question open is the height of unprofessionalism.

... jus say'in.

I guess it gives some folks an easy out but the fluctuation in creates in winnings kinda sucks.
I say pick a side, place ur bet and live with it. I had read it would be closed too but eh..it's not my board.

it kills the pay out, because people who pick a team that has 20 percent chance make more money if they are rite and now they haave killed that aspect. not to mention if ur going to keep the question open maybe a little more notice would be need.

Yes, we changed our minds on this. There was a demand from some users to have in play sports questions. We wanted to try it out at some stage during the public beta and felt that the Super Bowl would provide the liquidity needed to make it work properly.

The percentage you make a prediction at determines your payout; so rise is incorrect. It doesn't kill the payout.

If you picked the Giants at 20%, then that determines your payout when the question is settled. Having the question go in play allows you to cash in if the Giants go above 20% and you want to take a certain but smaller profit rather than risk losing your original stake if NY lose.

Give in-play a chance. I have had a lot of experience of in play prediction and betting markets. They are a lot of fun and add an extra dimension of interest.

if i understand you rite than it does sound good. your saying if i picked the giants at 20 percent and in the 4th quarter it 21 10 giants and people flood the prediction that the giants will win and now its 80precent giants that my payoff is still based on 20 percent. is that correct?

I hope so..lol than I can't complain

  29 donal
If you place $100 on the Giants at 20%, you stand to get a $500 payout if you stay with this position until the end of the game and it is settled as a Giants win, then you get $500, no matter what direction the percentages go during the game.

My complaint is as follows: IF I had known that the rules had changed for this question, and that it would still be open during the game, I would have paid attention to the site during the game, and cashed out when my payoff was high. As it was, I assumed my bet on the Patriots couldn't be changed and didn't visit this site during the game.

I'm in favor of not closing the sports propositions before the end of the event, but I am NOT in favor of changing the rules without actively informing me, or even giving me a chance to withdraw my bet at the time the rule changes.
