salvia is a hallucinogenic plant that the media is reporting on...will it be banned by the feds? any ban counts as long as it is federal and it makes it illegal to buy/sell/possess/etc. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080311/ap_on_re_us/hallucinogenic_plant;

Government rules and regulations :-)
Hey, I know of a new law they can pile onto the other 10 billion laws we already have....... Okay, so I don't know of any, I think they've got everything covered..... Um no wait... I got one.... toothpicks! That's right folks! Toothpicks! Those deadly, dangerous, and utterly criminal things people use so "secretly" all across this great land and place in their mouths for "comfort". Why don't you know how dangerous it is to place a wooden spike into your mouth? What if a child sees you do that? What kind of message are you sending that child? That a toothpick is a toy? That it is something to be used in "secret"? And besides, there is such a huge possibility that people will start selling toothpicks at schools across the nation and then what will we have? Why I can just see it now, headline reads: "14 year old boys dies, after inserting toothpick into his mouth." Man, that is criminal! Toothpicks should be and must be banned, made federally illegal, and anyone caught using a toothpick for any reason, especially to make their teeth and gums feel better, should be given mandatory minimum sentence, have their children taken away, along with their car, house and all assets, and anyone caught selling a toothpick should be taken to federal prison for a mandatory minimum of 20 years and have their "Right to Vote," revoked immediately!
Wow, I should run for US Senate on this! I could write new laws all day. How many people could I be helping with my intellect and how many people could I add to our already burgeoning, oops silly me, I meant over burdened, prison system? I mean come on, why stop at locking up 1% of the US population? Why not 10% Or even morrre :-D Dream big always I say :-D

P.S. I meant this post in good fun, so please do not take offense. We simply have a government that should focus on fixing our roads, lowering violent crime and stopping drunk drivers. So yeah, I guess I can dream of a more responsible government at least :-)

Must admit in my quest for "selective" full disclosure, we ordered some salvia online a few years ago. Afterward, we felt it was a waste of money, time and effort. Calling this drug hallucinogenic, is like saying that you can buy a sandwich for a nickel. It made me feel a little woozy and tipsy, for a short while. It was not a fun experience overall and not something worth repeating after the initial experimentation was over.
Listing on my personal "Danger scale" from 1 - 10
with (1) being absolutely harmless and (10) being very dangerous.
(2)
Overrated - yes
Dangerous -no
