Who will the 2008 Democratic candidate for President be?
Background: The 2008 race to become the Democratic nominee for President of the United States is the most hotly contested in a generation.
Hillary Clinton once the established Democratic nominee has been unseated by Barack Obama. Although it's mathematically impossible for Clinton to regain the lead in either the popular vote or the pledged delegate count she's continued to fight against the tide.
Obama has to a large extent redirected his sights towards McCain but until he can clinch the nomination, he'll have to deal with Clinton in the background.
The race for the White House is far from over, but can the all but dead Clinton campaign beat the odds? Doubtful but stranger things have happened! [Ryan Jacobs]

Back To The Issue, Has Anyone Considered The EXPERIENCE Hillary Has With Our Allies Being Extremely Important, Especially In A Time When The Country Is Suffering Such A Large Lose Of Allies, Barack Obama Spoke Yesterday About A Bridge Back To The 90's, But Didn't We Have Strong Allies Then, And Wouldn't Hillary Be Much More Capable Of Strenghthening Those Fractured Relationships Far More Easily Than An Unfamiliar Face, Such As Barack, A Relatively Unknown, Both Inside AND OUTSIDE This Country, And God Forbid Another Terrorist Attack Should Occur Wouldn't Those Allies Come In Pretty Handy ?
you guys can cite polls all you want, I think Obama's got momemtum and the more people see him, even white people, the more they will vote for him. So I'm throwing more money in.

On March 4th, history will be made.
For the very first time, a woman will be the Democratic Candidate for President. And she will win the election.
There are many democrats (me amongst them), that will not allow an inexperienced candidate to take the reins of the country, no matter how well he orates in public. Look what happened with Bush. His cronies took over and he looks like the Fool of the Greatest Nation on Earth. I would cross party lines and vote for McCain before I'd vote for Obama, as many moderate democrats will do in the election.
Now, I do not think that Obama would be a 'fool'. I just think he is (at this point in time), naive. IMHO, he needs another 8 years of experience in Congress (or VP), in order to be really ready. Then, and only then, would I vote for him.
I'm jersjusttrolling, and I approved this message.
lol, barack is the loser here, duh.
So I'm amazed how many people put Hubdub dollars on the clear underdog Mrs Clinton
I'm not trying to fan any flames, its an honest question that I'm hoping can be answered without anyone getting too hot under the collar.
BTW - Why is nobody talking about the Republican superdelegates, they have then too.
Regarding who these superdelegates are and how legitimate they are..... Most of the superdelegates are elected officials, governors, members of the house and senate. They were elected by the people of their state or district. So for instance Ted Strickland is a superdelegate for Ohio as is Senator Sherrod Brown. Both were elected in statewide elections so the people of Ohio selected them. On the other hand a delegate that has been chosen through a caucus was chosen by a very small percentage of the voters using a dated and undemocratic system. How are these delegates and more valid than a superdelegate?
1) Basically, I don't like the superdelegate system. I understand why they came about, but I just don't like the idea of them deciding the election. I don't care between 'they should vote with their state' or 'they should vote for who is ahead at convention'. That's my opinion regardless of which candidate that helps/hinders.
2) No one is talking about the Republican superdelegates because they had no say in the election. I'm sure if the Republican race was closer, they'd be getting plenty of press as well.
3) I think your caucus point is an interesting one. I never knew much about caucuses (pl sp??) until this election but they seem pretty screwy to me. Why do so many states use a system which seems to so severly limit voter turnout? Anyone have anything good to say about them?
Like most people, my family and friends have similar views to my own. Its nice to have a chance to have a (civil) discussion with people who see things differently.
This conversation however, is very informative. ty
