Considering Hilary is the front runner in national polls and has the most delegates it's a safe bet that she wil be the eventual nominee. She aslo has the connections that Obama lacks.

Correction: Hillary does not have more delagates than Obama, however, considering her connections she will be able to line up more super delagates than Obama. The only thing she has to worry about is an Obama Edwards ticket which might give her a serious run for her money.

wow, everyone seems really sure about that, guess its time to buy low. Anyone ever consider that the game can change, and that the polls haven't exactly been too accurate this year. I don't mind, just more money for me.

With the Kennedys support and people wanting a change and the dirty politics that backfired the national polls will change they are already moving his way. If Edwards drops out his followers will go to Obama. If Edwards would throw his endorsement then it would be more of a sure thing. If Edwards were to be offered and accept the VP position it would be a slam dunk and would stop Hillary & Bill cold. A Obama/Edwards ticket would stomp anything the Republicans put up. Its now the "Kennedey" factor and "Camelot". Things changed big time Monday with the Kennedey dynasty comparing Obama to Kennedy. We are seeing the young voters being motivated like during Vietnam. A highly motivated group that wants change.

In the long run if Hillary does win which I'm hoping doesn't happen, it will kill off any youth interest in politics for a long time. Their is no doubt that so far the Clinton's have used the dirtiest techniques to win, and this is the cause of the dramtic win in SC. Where Obama won every demographic, besides whites.

Cancelled this will all depend on what happens. I will say though that if one of the candidates drops out and it is clear who will win the nomination this will be decided before the end date. The end date is available in case the most unlikely of situations occurs, in which the race ends at the convention.

Wisconsin & Hawaii last night make 10 in a row for Obama.

You know, all this talk about Obama's last 11 wins (if you include the expats), makes sense to some people, and they think it will now be a landslide. Youth are going to vote for him in droves. Blacks switching sides, etc.

On March 4th, history will be made.

For the very first time, a woman will be the Democratic Candidate for President. And she will win the election.

There are many democrats (me amongst them), that will not allow an inexperienced candidate to take the reins of the country, no matter how well he orates in public. Look what happened with Bush. His cronies took over and he looks like the Fool of the Greatest Nation on Earth. I would cross party lines and vote for McCain before I'd vote for Obama, as many moderate democrats will do in the election.

Now, I do not think that Obama would be a 'fool'. I just think he is (at this point in time), naive. IMHO, he needs another 8 years of experience in Congress (or VP), in order to be really ready. Then, and only then, would I vote for him.

if you think the superdelegates aren't going to choose Hillary Over Obama, yer in for a let down, all this delegate math and the REAL math is in the ELECTORAL system, superdelegates know that, whew thank god.

cancelled - Do you really think it would be a good idea for the superdelegates to go against the will of the people? Regardless of which candidate I support, I think its very important that the American people feel that their vote counts. If the superdelegates were to negate that vote by throwing their weight behind a different candidate I think there will be rioting in the streets (perhaps literally).

I'm not trying to fan any flames, its an honest question that I'm hoping can be answered without anyone getting too hot under the collar.

Jenni, if you support the superdelegates voting the way their state votes than I encourage you to contact Sen. Kennedy and Kerry of Mass. and ask them to pledge their votes to Clinton since she won that state's primary. Funny how Obama's supporters (not saying you, but his moutpieces on TV) use this arguement but only when it benefits him and if you do the math on the super delegates he better be careful what he wishes for. The big states that Clinton has won have many more superdelegates than the small ones that Obama won. She would benefit by linking the superdelegate to the primary winner.

BTW - Why is nobody talking about the Republican superdelegates, they have then too.

Regarding who these superdelegates are and how legitimate they are..... Most of the superdelegates are elected officials, governors, members of the house and senate. They were elected by the people of their state or district. So for instance Ted Strickland is a superdelegate for Ohio as is Senator Sherrod Brown. Both were elected in statewide elections so the people of Ohio selected them. On the other hand a delegate that has been chosen through a caucus was chosen by a very small percentage of the voters using a dated and undemocratic system. How are these delegates and more valid than a superdelegate?

Historyteacher - You make a lot of good points.. here are (some of) my thoughts:
1) Basically, I don't like the superdelegate system. I understand why they came about, but I just don't like the idea of them deciding the election. I don't care between 'they should vote with their state' or 'they should vote for who is ahead at convention'. That's my opinion regardless of which candidate that helps/hinders.

2) No one is talking about the Republican superdelegates because they had no say in the election. I'm sure if the Republican race was closer, they'd be getting plenty of press as well.

3) I think your caucus point is an interesting one. I never knew much about caucuses (pl sp??) until this election but they seem pretty screwy to me. Why do so many states use a system which seems to so severly limit voter turnout? Anyone have anything good to say about them?

Like most people, my family and friends have similar views to my own. Its nice to have a chance to have a (civil) discussion with people who see things differently.

imho, we will witness a 'brokered-deal' prior to the end of April. All the talk of delegates (super or not-so-super) will then be moot.
