The settlement rules ("Report of entry to the USA or performance on USA soil during the Grammy Awards") don't really seem to jive with the question. Not appearing in the US doesn't automatically mean she was refused entry.

Can we get this settled already, please?

Appearance at the US awards, Amy Winehouse - will she appear? -- she could appear live via satellite. If she does, then NO is the winning vote. But there is ANOTHER question -- this is actually two poorly written questions that conflict with one another. THe other question is if she will be refused entry to the USA...what does that have to do with her making an appearance? ON top of all of this, AFTER it was annouced that she was denied entry, someone made a HUGE bet for YES.

The entire question should be voided because it is poorly written and that others are betting after the decision is made!

it's two questions in one...it could have had two answers...but whatever

The "settlement details" make it sound as if the question is meant in a way whether she will make it to the U.S. for the Grammy's or not - in the sense that "refused entry" means she is prevented from attending the Grammy's by not being allowed to enter the United States. (Not being refused entry at some earlier date.) And in this sense the question could not have been settled yet: Grammy's take place on February 10th and Amy Winehouse's producer is still set on making her appear there.

Ok, anyways, since she has now been permanently denied her visa it's settled either way.

To further complicate things, today it's announced that she DID get her visa but "logistics and timing complications" will cause her to miss:

She got her visa! This was just settled correctly!

This wasn't settled according to the rules of the question "Report of entry to the USA or performance on USA soil during the Grammy Awards". She clearly isn't going to perform on US soil or enter the US in time for the Grammy Awards, so the correct settlement should have been Yes. Games can be fun, but only if the rules make sense and are adhered to. Otherwise it's not very interesting. Fun idea, but after two questions being settled like this, I'm done.

Wow, not only did the question retroactively remove the winnings and deduct money, but now the question description has been changed after the fact to "Appearance at the US awards, Amy Winehouse - will she appear?" which means something entirely different from when I originally answered this one. I think in situations like this, the questions should be VOIDED if the settlement is going to keep changing so drastically. Or at least in the future keep a question open until the original settlement date so you do not have to go through something like this - and not allow people time to cash in, as that option was effectively negated for those who voted yes and thought we had gotten it correct due to settlement payment!

I'm with innoabrd. Seems like in situations like this, either everyone should have won (since it _was_ denied, but then granted on appeal) or, barring that, the question should have been voided. Sure, it's fake money and none of this really matters, but it's only fun to play games when they have logical, non-arbitrary rules. Maybe I'll check this site out again in six months or so and see if these problems have gotten ironed out, but for now I think there are more enjoyable ways to waste my time.

The question contradicts itself (Will she be refused vs. will she appear). The situation contradicts itself (She WAS refused. It WAS reported. Later the embassy reversed its decision). The situation may yet reverse again as her manager is still pushing her to show up, logistic problems or not. If there is no wrong answer, then there is no right answer and the question screams "VOID ME!".

this should be voided

This question is the poster child for questions that should be VOIDED....

1) The question was poorly written, it actually contained two contradictory questions.
2) The question was ALTERED after votes had been made.
3) The question was settled before the actual outcome was determined, then reversed.
