Will Any of These Top-25 US Newspapers Print a Story, Before the November, 2008, Election, that Quotes John McCain's 'Joke' About Chelsea Clinton?

Settled as Yes

Joke is reprinted in the NY Daily News today
http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/07/17/2008-07-17_as_election_nears_a_push_from_john_mccai.html

Background:

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno."

At the time (June, 2000), the fact that the tasteless joke was made was reported in major newspapers, however the joke itself was not.

Although the Associated Press reported the joke in full, the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, and others, reported that a tasteless joke had been made, but kept the joke itself secret. The Arizona Republic, McCain's hometown paper, was the sole exception, reporting the joke itself.

Will John McCain's increased vetting in the general election cause this buried issue to be reported?

This joke was made in June 1998, not June 2000. Is this the joke you were referring to?

hmm... one day after the "campaign for the general election" has begun, The Guardian (UK) printed the joke, in full, in today's (June 5th) edition.
