Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster predicted sales of just 425,000 units in 3 days and 1 million units after 3 weeks, but instead, Apple announced this morning that they in fact reached the 1 million sales mark of the newest handset in less than 72 hours!!
Analysts are expecting Apple to sell an additional 5.1 million iPhones before this current quarter is out and another 6.5 million during the December quarter, bring worldwide iPhone sales since it launched just over a year ago, to well over 16 million units by January 2009.
