Will Cleveland, Oh recieve 10 inches of snow as reported at Cleveland Hopkins Airport on March 8, 2008 by 6PM EST?

Voided

The issue with this market is that it can be interpreted in several ways--illustrated in the issues brought up in the comment section of this market. I think the best way to prevent these questions from being voided is to be specific as possible. When you say 10 inches of snow, make sure you state something that indicates "more than 10 inches" or "less than 10 inches"...something to avoid confusion! Thanks for the market though; I am just trying to be fair!

Settlement requested Sun 9th Mar 7am PDT by historyteacher: It is Yes, way more than 10 inches, and the only reasonable way to read this was 10 inches or more.

I read this question as "will receive 10 inches of snow ON MARCH 8TH, between 12:01 am and 6 pm EST". That is: 10 inches during that eighteen hour period. This is NOT an accumulation that includes prior snow from today, March 7th.

That's the way I read it, 10 inches of snow ON MARCH 8th between 12am and 6pm.

The answer would be yes as the did get 10 inches of snow at the least. even though they got more.. they still had 10 inches.

I disagree with your rational for voiding this question.

Comments 1, 2 and 3, clearly define the question (including your comment.

Comments after that are all concerned, as far as I can tell, with whether or not the question concerned exactly "10.000 inches" of snow, or more than "10.000 inches of snow".

All of those comments are moot, as there was less than ten inches of snow at the reporting location included in the question (see settlement link). There was 8.7" of snow during that period of time at the Cleveland airport weather station.

I request that this question be resettled as of the time of the first settlement request (at 6:00pm EST), voiding all predictions made after that time.

I also disagree. If you interpret the question to mean Hopkins got exactly 10 inches of snow by 6PM, well at some point "by 6 PM" there was exactly 10 inches before it went over 10 inches.
