J.K Rowling herself said that there would be no 8th harry potter book. she said she might m ake another book for another series.

I believe she's writing at the moment, but I agree it's doubtful that another Harry Potter book will be coming out. I'm a bit skeptical about the starting likelihood for this market--no uproar thus far though.

Just to keep percpective on the fickleness of writers, Anne Rice has announced another Lestat book in the vampire series. You never know, but I'm still voting No.

She said she has always planned to release an encyclopedia of HP knowledge and donate the money to charity, does that kind of thing count or is it strictly another book in the main series?

Another book in the main series. A fictional novel, like the ones we typically understand as "harry potter" books.

yeah I had actually heard about that pics4d, i imagine that lawsuit is the reason she hasn't released her own yet.
