"The trial for the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback had been scheduled to start this Friday. But at Poindexter's request, a judge postponed the trials of Vick and other defendants until the men are released from federal prisons where they are serving time for dogfighting conspiracy charges.
"He said Surry's cases could resume quickly once Vick gets out of the minimum-security federal prison facility in Leavenworth, Kan. With good behavior Vick could be out July 20, 2009, Poindexter said."
