This should be changed to read "World Cup" instead of World Championship, just in case it gets confused with the FIFA Club World Championship that is played yearly in Japan but is open to bidding starting in 2009.

@lrossouw - yes, from the background information it seems this question asks whether any construction, political or other problems will prevent the world cup from going ahead, as planned, in South Africa
