Will the XM and Sirius merger be approved by the US Government before September 1st, 2008?

Background:

This merger has been on hold now by the Government for well over a year. The Government is stating that the combination of the two will result in an illegal monopoly, like noone will be able to hear music through any other outlets if the merger happens. The same people overseeing this have approved mergers of multiple oil companies with one another to create super-companies in 2 to 6 weeks. That certainly cant be in the best interest of the consumer. I believe that the decision on this matter is a great barometer of whether our government is for the good of the people, or for the good of big business. Depending on how this turns out, we may have very many disappointed citizens.
