Will the average price of a gallon of diesel fuel in the US reach $5 per gallon by September 8, 2008?

Background:

With all the talk about the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the US, the average price of diesel is actually higher, reported for the week of March 17 as $3.97 a gallon. With a projection of gasoline hitting a $4 per gallon average during the summer, will diesel hit an average price of $5?

Before I bet, I'm unclear... if the US Natl. Avg hits $5.00 PRIOR to August, does this settle for a yes? What about spikes over $5.00 prior to August and then stays @ $4.99 for the entire month of August?

yes, if we hit 5$ by july 1, then we will settle all three 5$ markets (july4, aug1 and now sept 8) at least that's how i understood it.

@ jenniandboys -- the other two markets are for "regular unleaded" grade. This market is for diesel fuel. (two for gasoline, one for fuel.)

Here in Seattle, it has been at the $4.95 - $5.07 for a couple weeks now! Right this second, up the street at the Shell, it is $4.99 for Diesel!
