Automating the Stock Market Question Creation Process

While I know the idea of automating the question creation process might be the proverbial third-rail for HD staff, I wanted to propose it for a very specific class of recurrent questions such as the stock markets and if they will open or close up or down on any given day.

The stock market questions already come with a number of unique and mandatory parameters such as market specific suspend times, holidays, and only specific indexes are allowed for wagering.

It takes a substantial amount of time to create these recurrent questions so I wanted to at least inquire on the possibility of getting these stock market specific questions automated by Hubdub. (And when I say automated, I don't mean make Bayoubear write them because he already has enough to contend with as it is).

Is authentic automation in the stock market question creation process possible? I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on this.

... I'm working on a batch creation script for markets which could help with this.

Probably ready for test the next few days.

I would be very interested in a batch creation script when it becomes available Kruijs. I'll bet Orlin and Elly would also be interested since they create several of the recurrent stock market questions each week as well. Let us know when it's available and thank you for taking the time to create such a valuable resource.

Thank you for the user script Krujis. I was able to install and run the script without any problems however when I tried to create a new question, it gave me a giant text box which also had a {PARSE INPUT} option. I'm wondering in what format does the script need the text?

Is it just asking for the question titles separated by commas at this point?

Thanks again for your making these Hubdub scripts available Krujis.

Thanks for taking a look into these possibilities...One of the good things about having primarily just a few regular question creators for these daily market is the consistency they provide, as far as odds, times, options, etc...but then the downside is the amount of time they take to create. Particularly since, at least for me, the site still continues to move a bit slowly. The use of multiple screens has helped a great deal, but other methods should be investigated.

Thanks for all you do Kruijs ! ! ! ! And to Lola as well for the care in which questions are created and information is presented.
