Was $150,000 on Palin's clothes money well spent?

I think its a big deal considering the 'big deal' Republicans made out of John Edwards 400.00 haircut.
Additionally, she is spinning this fiscally responsible reformer crap and it doesn't really fly, when all they've done is scream about how much $ the Obama campaign has and how unfair that is. It was not money well spent.
And it makes me think about the 51k she spent redecorating the Mayor's office in Wasilla....
Sarah Palin IS a diva....

All I can say is

¨°º¤ø„¸ Obama „ø¤º°¨
¸„ø¤º°¨ for President`°º¤ø„¸

She may in fact have needed new clothes, but I suspect that as governess of the Alaskan wilderness, she's got a few decent outfits. Beyond that, the total of what was spent is outrageous. I think my clothing budget is a few hundred dollars a year, and yes, I'm frugal. Still, I manage to dress professionally for my job. Of course, running for national office requires a far better set of clothes than I have. But wouldn't $20,000 have gotten her through the campaign looking spiffy?

jsevigny,

I can only wonder what 20 k in clothes would do to my already crammed closets and dressers!

You betcha she coulda done it on alot less....and I'm sure she'd tell ya that if ya asked her.

But SOMEBODY decided she needed the right TAGS on her clothes and I'm going to venture she was pretty delighted with the results.

You know, I watched that charity dinner that both Obama and McCain spoke at in NYC a couple of weeks ago. It was a white tie event, everybody there looked fab in their gowns and tuxedo's.

Obama's tux did not fit him correctly. It was immediately noticeable to me. And it endeared him to me even more. The dude wears shoes that are spiffy, but worn thru on the bottom....he really is grounded and more one of us than people might imagine. He doesn't bring a wardrobe to the table...he brings himself.

Today he took he kids trick or treating. Can you recall ever hearing of a prominent politician, let alone one running for president, doing that?
The media chased him down the street with his little girl. He's giving up a normal life.... and for that I am grateful, but it really brings some stuff home to me. The man has a vision and it doesn't have a designer label.

So....for me, the clothes do not make the woman. She only comes off like more of an ornament.

I would think this shopping spree would go down in shame as it well should. It was frivolous and as you stated, they could have upgraded her for a fraction of the price.
