I think the point of the zen saying was that somethings or people die for the wrong reason, or before their time, but they die nonetheless and nothing can ever make it bad or wrong if you accept that it happened, and that all things have a finite life span, and that lifespan is determined by its owner or other events for which there is no control over. Just so I do not get on your bad side, hehe, seriously, I made several comments on the threads like 5+ hours ago and no one has commented on my saying that I thought the strike was over at that point because of the decision to Vote .... I do seriously apologize dude, since obviously I've jumped the gun.
Also, I didn't see that the strike was intended to last until after the vote, as I thought that it was now in OUR hands, what to do with Satyaki.

I truthfully think that Satyaki will be taken to $1,000, meaning his account RESET, but I VOTED to have him Canned, so we'll see how it all turns out.

This lack of ethical conduct on the part of the cheater in question is not being dealt with ethically by hubdub, therefore, I am renouncing my support of hubdub.com entirely, until a fair conclusion to this matter has been decided and acted upon up to and possibly including the removal of (Satyaki) from membership.
It is my concrete belief that the legitimacy and reputation of this entire game is at stake and I will no longer participate in a game that is "fixed" against the ethical and rules following players, and placed in the favor of unethical and rule breaking members.
I declare to you admins, that you have treated ALL legitimate hubdubbers in an unethical manner, you have disrespected those who love and support the game and have potentially fed a "gaming" environment that actually encourages cheating against the upright in this hubdub community.

Will wonders never cease! My scores usually play hopscotch between 15th and 20th position, which is fine with me. I accidentally had a benefit this month (that won't last). Others will pass me soon. Do you remember that I mentioned before that so many predictions I was invested in were all ending "by the end of March" or "by March 31st" or "by April 1st". Some combination of those, which I don't understand exactly, gave me a beginning of the quarter boost. I remember some chat about how the new quarter was going to be started, but I didn't follow it exactly. I figured we had no choice anyway, so I just tried to pay attention to my portfolio.

I used to be concerned because every time I looked at my investment total, it was up or down a few hundred hudub bucks. NOW that we all have increased investments with time, it can easily move one and a half thousand in a go. Where you are sitting should be a lot more alarming than that. I would imagine that you can see shifts of two or three thousand up and down at times. It will be a while before I see that.

Anyway, I have out of town guests for ten days in the next two and a half weeks. That is going to slow my hubdubbing activities quite a bit. Hopefully I can maintain my normal position between 15th and 20th. I'm happy there!

Where did you spot number 3? I know about number 5 on the second quarter board and number 1 on the second quarter "general" category board. That's about all I know about.

The great part is that we are all at the very top SOMEWHERE on these boards, and dragging our sorry asses at the bottom of other boards. If you don't like a board, just pick another one! Uncle Nigel has given us enough to choose from...Pick a number from 1 to 743: there's a corresponding board here somewhere. Just try to remember WHERE you saw the good board. (A little cynical humor for tonight).

I watched a few elections in a foreign country a few years ago, given to a peculiar attitude: everyone TALKED progressive, THOUGHT moderate, and then -- when they were by themselves in the little polling booth -- they mysteriously VOTED conservative.

I wonder if that isn't what's going on here this year: It's a big deal to TALK Obama, THINK Clinton, and when they get to the actual election, I wonder if the same people aren't going to VOTE McCain...

Unfortunately, one of my best friends is being placed on life support today, in another state (and I can't be there). He will be heavily sedated and out of pain, and in the next week or so his family will need to decide whether or not to continue indefinite life support. I will hear more later, but -- as I understand it -- the situation is terminal with no possibility of improvement. We only learned about this last night.

If you think about it, you will see definite divisions in your life: childhood, perhaps college, military, marriage and raising a family, empty nest period, perhaps changes of career, change of life, etc. It will be different for everyone. I am two years into my "fifth life" and about to do a major physical move.

What you are doing is a definite job and probably the beginning of another one of your "lives". I wish you great success with this endeavour. Between your research and hubdub (which is a great hobby), I hope you are leaving some time for your family. You are a great guy, and we really enjoy your company. (Your family might miss you).

I understand from Nigel that a couple of vetting developments are in the works for April, including getting assistance from what he deems "power users". I would prefer that this phrase would be "power commenters" (regular contributors to COMMENTS who have shown a strong interest in content).

I think we all have a ton of money sitting ON, BY, BEFORE March 31st/April 1st. How did it happen that so many questions gave those two dates? And then -- FLASH OF LIGHTNING -- it's all gonna be gone.

Let me add something to your guidelines you shouted on ladylara:
First of all: I made the same experiences like you did. Currently I'm cashing in most of my long running predictions with large amounts. They just give me enough profit for the time where the money is blocked on the question.
Secondly: When talking about "riding the wave" you can do this rapidly within the NASDAQ Questions - although it's very risky, because the market moves extremely fast.
Thirdly: To understand what you are doing when "riding the wave" and cashing out with a profit: You predict that more hubdubbers will bet on a certain outcome than the current standings. This is highly speculative, of course. You do not predict that the option will be the actual outcome. In fact, you might even be sure another option will be correct outcome, but still, the possible raise of the false option might give you the earnings. This is likely, when the outcome of a question is really not (or hardly) predictable or the odds are far from the real possibilities. This must be evaluated on each question itself. On the other hand, you should not speculate on something like that when the question is going to be settled soon (jerry sayd already) or the outcome seem to be decided. On the other hand, you might be causing the wave yourself if you put a large amount on a very low priced option. In that case, the price raises noticably and other users might think "hey, some people seem to be sure on that outcome - they have information that i have not - i will just follow". But do not count on that!
Jerry, maybe we could put your ideas and my addition together in a guideline together: "How to play HubDub". What do you think?

I read most of the string last night and was exhausted, and "kinda" put off...First idea that crossed my mind was that hubdub could implode at the end of the month, if management is going to make this too difficult. Second idea is: do we need to get UNIONIZED to negotiate with management to keep our hard-earned hubdub dollars. Third idea is that this is starting to run like a low-grade Russian province: genuine improvements here and there, then suddenly everything is taken away and changed. And we are going to start over with honorary stars on our foreheads. Maybe we should ask management if we can keep our rubles...Actually, didn't anybody learn anything about too many sudden changes at EBAY?

Thank you for your input. It is, frankly, the opposite I expected (the $20- $50 bet bit). I can't imagine that growing in to H$ hundreds of thousands, but I'll take your good word...The idea of finding low to bet then letting others do the gambling at 80% is opposite of my form so far- guess I have done a good job of helping the rest of you!
