Hope u doing well.. To save you the trouble of reading the 4 emails I forwarded to you.. here is a short synopsis, if u are interested..(from my perspective)
I questioned the color of Obama's tie ( thought it was magenta -- halfway between purple and red), and never got an answer from Destry... Except when I suspended one of my own questions,. but he first said he had responded; then he said his answer in the settlement was his response. Then he complained about it just being the color of a tie, and a few other things like he didnt have time for it, etc.. etc., when i tried to explain that there were no color families in physics (his answer said it was in the red family) I do not believe in physics (and color wheels were invented by Maxwell) that there are such things, but if so, purple is half way between blue and red anyway -- so which family is it in? but we never got that far, because.. he basically didn't want to hear it again..

What if France approves it for use and distributes it in October, but the US FDA demands more testing be completed before release in the US and it doesn't become publicly available until December?

The significance is that in the US there is already talk that testing could take months, but in Europe the vaccine could be ready to roll in a matter of weeks. How will this settle?

Thanks for that. Yes, I agree, I'm not looking for admin, more like superuser. Didn't realize it covered an entire category, not a sub-category. I already have a job, don't need another one at the moment! No wonder you guys are spread so thin when it comes to screening questions. I'd like to get more involved in the prevention side, aiding and encouraging new question writers, doing the research for settlement (I already do a lot of that anyway), and flagging/suspending questions when appropriate (do a fair share of flagging already).

BTW, the link you sent me still shows Infernal Machine as admin for world, not sqlman. Might want to update that.

I completely agree. BB is a solid administrator in every market I've been in where he's been there. It's just when I see the value of a market on intrade at 98 and the value here trading at under 50%, I'm concerned some folks don't understand the question (despite the fact that there's a link to the intrade market in the background, and there's been a lengthy discussion in the comments to clarify that settlement on the yes side is almost inevitable). I just don't want to give up my biggest potential money-making market out of fear of an odd settlement. This one holds the potential to vault me into the millionaires club. ;-)

Thanks, that's what I thought. It just makes one nervous when the admin is betting against you in a market that might be a challenging call. I did notice that all his bets are public and it was a fairly old bet, so perhaps I'll take solice in that.

I think I made a couple of boo boos.. I just put two questions out about this season's hurricanes and tropical storm frequencies, but i know there were some last year.
I realize that this is likely a faux pas in protocol, as it is up to that person to put out these questions.. (but i just thought , WOW, it is april and the season starts in June),,, so i devised these two questions.. Can you contact whoever is "in charge" of these questions, and offer him/her mine, and/or just cancel mine?

Madoff just pled guilty to 11 separate charges including international money laundering. The original indictment included only one charge of fraud. Why is somebody sinking $20k into the No side on this question? I know you've been the one to point out my blindspots before and I appreciate it. I don't know if this is the buying opportunity of the century or a moneypit based on symmantics. To me, the market should be suspended now based on the information that's publicly available, but when I requested settlement, I got no response.

Are you able to look at why a bet was voided? I had a total of four bets on two different questions voided yesterday and neither question was voided, but my bets were. Two were winners and I'm just wondering why I got voided. I submitted an inquiry via e-mail this morning but haven't heard anything back.

What! A 4% change today wasn't enough for you? I'm finally spread out enough where I can have a few questions go bad and still hang onto my gains, but I'm certainly into some volitile markets. Some will swing from 19 to 54% in a single day and right back the next day. It wreaks havoc on one's net worth in the short term, but in the long run, it presents some great buying opportunities.

Hi Tisha - with the Warragamba Dam market, the storage number quoted by the SCA is for total Sydney storage, which is comprised of (I think) about 15 reservoirs. Warragamba storage is different, but also above 55%. So no problem, but I though I would point it out just to be pedantic!

Well, if you send him the two links (the one you found and the one I found) it's clear that Griffin is not the current director. However, the current director is only an acting director, so given the wording of the settlement, I think it should remain open until appointed. Obviously I wouldn't mind if it settled at Somebody Else, however, I don't think the appointment of an acting director settles it as somebody else either.

If you'll recall that yesterday, we were the fools on the Nasa market. Well, guess what? Last night somebody else had the same idea and run Griffin up to 80%. While I've done some work to earn back my earlier losses, there's still a lot of money to be made on whoever ran it up. "Somebody else" is sitting at 47% and Bolden is at 3%.

Regarding your question about the Hurricane committee, I had the same kind of question in my mind when I was building this marketplace... Within the background information is an indiacation that I think addresses this uncertainty..."If that occurs, then at an annual meeting by the committee (called primarily to discuss many other issues) the offending name is stricken from the list and another name is selected to replace it."...I think the committee would address this prospect quickly rather than let it languish for an extended period of time, and if theise meetings are annual, there really doesn't seem to be much of a prospect for multiple years to go by.
