Which movie will earn more "Step Brothers vs. The X-Files 2" opening weekend?

Settled as Step Brothers by $5.1 million or More...

It's Step Brothers by $20 million - only 6% got this right :-(
http://the-numbers.com/charts/thisweek.php

Background:

This question asks, which one of THESE two movies, will earn more during their opening weekend (July 25th, 26th and 27th, 2008)? ..... The possible outcomes are set up as this, if "Step Brothers" opens with $5,099,999 MORE than "The X-Files 2," then the "Step Brothers by $5.0 million or Less" WILL WIN, however, if "Step Brothers" earns $5,100,000 or MORE than "The X-Files 2," then the "Step Brothers by $5.1 million or More" WILL WIN. The same rules apply for "The X-Files 2" ... As of the posting of this question, HSX.com is predicting these two films will be LESS THAN $1.0 million apart during their opening weekend. Yes you read that right! Predictions are for Step Brothers to earn $27.717 million opening weekend and The X-Files: I Want To Believe to earn $26.851 million, but this has been a crazy year so far with lots of surprises, so anything could happen. ..... This question suspends on Friday the 25th of July at 6pm PST and should be Settled by Monday evening the 28th of July, 2008..... If anyone does NOT understand these rules, please ASK me to clarify and ask an Admin to contact me for clarification.

I think both of these movies will suck. But www.the-numbers.com surprisingly is predicting only some $60 total box office potential for Step Brothers and a whopping (in comparison) $100 million for The X-Files 2 ... This is way different from HSX.com's players calling for about equal box office returns of about $70 million a piece.

I just checked HSX.com and it shows the following opening weekend estimates and the 4 week totals estimates for:
$27.541 million opening weekend ... $79.87 million four week total for "The X-Files 2: I Want to Believe"
$26.855 million opening weekend ... $77.88 million four week total for "Step Brothers"
Remember, this is just a website where the users place bets on films kinda like here, so it's all opinion and not like "experts" but yeah, just keeping everyone informed. And man does this differ from many other websites, as to estimates.

Well I would imagine that Batman will take most of the Box Office for the second weekend in a row. So if you have people wanting to see action they will see that over x-files.

Step Brothers is getting rave reviews - I think it's gonna beat x-files.

I love comedy, and 'Step Brothers' will be a 'must see' for my family.
However, does anyone doubt that there are millions of X-Files fanatics, that have been waiting for this for a long, long time?

WOW X-FILES BOMBED with under $11 million for the weekend and Step Brothers did a stunning $30+!!!

But Batman is still #1 and topped $76 mill!!!

Good call Scott! I lost several hundred on XFiles. I guess we were overestimating the memory of their fan base :)

My parents saw it on Friday and had the entire theater to themselves... not a good sign!

I never missed an x-files episode. But I had no huge urge to see it because the show had been over for so long. Also Step Brothers was getting good reviews
