Mortal Kombat Annihilation did not do well at the box office, or with reviewers, and failed to achieve the success of the video game series. However, a lot of fans think a fast loan towards redemption is in order, and a new film in the works. The new film will be released in 2010, and the rumor is that original cast member Christopher Lambert will reprise his role from the first installment. If it does well, it may well mean credit repair from the negative impression of Mortal Kombat Annihilation.
