When Will the Wikia Search Counter break 5,000,000 queries?

from the link in settlement details...And of course, you are welcome to game the system by putting all you fake money into “July 2008″ or “August 2008″ and then using Wikia Search as your default search engine, thereby making the counter go up even faster. That way, you’ll win a lot of fake money — and fake money is almost as good as real money! i checked the other link at 13:30 pm EST and it goes up by about 1 per second. jenni your a math wizard. how long will it take to reach 5 millon?

60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day = 86,400 seconds in a day at 1 result per second is 86,400 a day. Currently at 11:36pm EST there are 2.1 million inquires, meaning 2.9 million to go. 2,900,000 / 86400 = 33.5 days. That equates to August 11th. Now if the pace quickens or slows that is an unknown.

Now known of those statistics line up with what Wiki says are the current stats.

That counter has got to be a hoax. While on the page, no http request is made to any site. Yet the counter keeps going up up up! It most likely is a simple javascript incrementor. Any, btw, the search results suck.

Not sure if you've seen this but: http://re.search.wikia.com/metrics/queries.html# they have had 3 million queries so far, 2 million to go, 25k per day. I don't think they are going to make it in August!

Well, they've corrected their stats. At this time, they're reaching 2.5 million queries. Hmm, I'm sceptical they are going to take 5M in Septeber. We will see.
