What Will Google Launch Next?

Settled as Other

Google Chrome launched (it's a browser, so Other wins)

Background:

Background: Google's launch of each of the categories marked by its downstream click data. Before Lively, Hitwise predicted Google's move into the health category.

So what's next for Google? Well ReadWriteWeb (which is probably the most insightful tech blog on the web) are predicting a push into Travel. Mashable are opting for an ask the audience.

At Hubdub, we still think there is a chance it could be the fabled Google Toaster!

Settlement details:Settled as the Google's next product release which is similar in scale to Lively or greater. To be a product it must be a named product rather than a feature on an existing product. If Google don't release any products this year then the suspend date will be extended.

Google launches Knol (although its been around in beta for a while in the labs)

Does this count: http://www.wired.com/software/coolapps/news/2008/07/google_knol (market suspended)
Unsuspended Wed 23rd Jul 2008 10:51am PST by nigeleccles[Admin]: Knol has been known about for some time so it doesn't count. I probably should have been more specific in saying that it needs to be new unnamed products.
Suspended Tue 2nd Sep 2008 12:09am PST by nigeleccles[Admin]: Launch of Google Chrome today
Settlement requested Wed 3rd Sep 2008 11:54am PST by newswrangler[Power User]: I think this needs to be "settled" as "Search" -- not just suspended ;-)

errr, search? Google will become a search engine? I always use Yahoo! to search the web. Why should Google want to provide a search engine? They should do what they've been doing so successfully traditionally: Sell toasters.

Haha - do people really think Google would go into music? I'd love to see them do audio search - imagine being able to search podcasts for key words / phrases...

The "each of the categories marked by its downstream click data." link appears to be broken.
I was trying to figure out the "search" thing, too??
