Who will win Florida in the 2008 Presidential Election?

Settled as Obama

Florida has always been a state which requires effort to win. In the election McCain for now has many advantages in the state. The aging population of Florida are a large make up of McCain's voting base. Senior citizens who are more likely to vote for McCain are also more likely to come out in larger numbers, in comparison to other age demographics.

Not to mention the wide base of support for McCain from within the Cuban-American community in Florida. Obama's recent problems with Jewish voters will also play into McCain's hands. So how is Obama to win this state? For now it's unclear. Almost certainly Obama would have to win over almost all of Hillary's supporters (many Floridians are ex-New Yorkers), he'd have to dramatically expand the youth vote and reign in the Jewish vote.

This is all possible by the election, but the question is will Obama put in the large amount of effort needed to win Floirda, when he can go gobble up other GOP strongholds?

* Due to the creation of a "Hubdub Electoral Map" and the need to have multi-option state markets instead of yes/no ones, this market will not be seen as a duplicate of this market

Reads more like an editorial, coolkraft....the Post has evidently slid down there with the times. Oh wait, an AP by-line....that explains it.

“Sarah Palin played it safe Sunday”
“She went to perhaps the easiest place in Florida”
“But she was welcomed like a star”
No attributions whatsoever....clearly opinion.
This sort of writing is an insult and belongs on the editorial pages.

And newspapers wonder why their circulations are dwindling....

chutzpa: (Yiddish) unbelievable gall; insolence; audacity

The Audacity of Hype: Having hauled in a record $208,333 every hour of every day last month -- $150 million in all -- plus a few more unreported millions so far this month, Barack Obama is worried that he might come up short in the political money war with the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket.

A new survey has shown that John McCain's numbers in Florida have remained static, while Barack Obama's support has decreased.
