Will an initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission be on the Denver ballot in 2009?

Current forecast: 71% chance 61%
Combining all predictions, the current forecast is that this is 71% likely to happen (up 61% in last 1 day)

Jeff Peckman has proposed the creation of a commission dealing with space aliens. He is 54, single and lives with his parents. Will the initiative receive the roughly 4000 signatures to be on the 2009 ballot?

Before a recent speech in Denver by UFO expert Steven Greer, attendees lined up for 50 yards to enter. Attendance was over 400.

Peckman plans to hold a news conference during the Democratic National Convention in August 2008. Peckman has appeared on Larry King Live and David Letterman to discuss ET's.

If this passes, Denver will steal California's status as kookiest place in America.

Gawd, I hope not. But you could easily be right.
I lived in Denver for 48 years until crime and congestion chased us away.
I still consider Denver to be my home, although we now live about 60 miles north of Denver.

Off Topic:
I am really wondering how much mayhem will happen during the DNC convention in Denver later this month? I am predicting a bunch, but I hope I am wrong.

I've been in the Denver metro for 11 years & was of the opinion that we have a fair number of crackpots here. My sister lives in Tampa. We have exchanged e-mails about wacky stories for the last several years. She's got me at about four to one. California may have us both beat though. :)
