I think this will be a substantial number for the following reasons:

1.) A very intense fan base, during the midnight showing I attended there were 3,000 customers, many dressed up as Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Joker, etc. That
s a lot of eyes.
2.) Widest opening in movie history.
3.) Long film, about 2:40, i.e. more chances for errors.
4.) Now, only 1/3 the way through the opening weekend, already five errors found on the website.
5.) Strong chance of repeat viewing, fans will be looking to brag about errors they can find.

Be careful as viewers tend to overlook mistakes when watching the film the first time. Most mistakes are discovered when the film is released on dvd, where you can rewind and look again to ensure the mistake you spotted.

Do you know when this is slated to be released on DVD?

It will be after the settlement date of this question - officially, at least.

I saw this today, and its far better than Ironman (lol, I know), the previous batman, or anything else that's coming out this year.

Current Count: 28 mistakes. This is going to be close

What is to prevent someone (a hubdub user) from sending in some mistakes and thereby raise the count?
I am not betting on this, so it doesn't matter to me... but such a thing bothers me... Any ideas anyone?

It appears that the site for settlement is well monitored by users and moderators, therefore any gaming that was to occur would be rooted out. If a user was to be caught so blatantly gaming a market severe action can be taken by Hubdub.
Hopefully our Hubdub faithful will not try to be the part of any market for the purpose of swaying that market using knowingly deceptive practices.

So if hypothetically I've seen it say...8 times, and have carefully noted 5-6 new mistakes from the film, dropping them onto the site on Friday would be bad, right? ;)

(aside: I don't. It's a fantastic film, enough to see once at a regular cinema and once at IMax. Brilliant.)

@ shojun,

Actually I have seen it six times, the last three specifically looking for mistakes and couldn't find any new ones.

Maybe the creator should add some incubation time between suspension date and settlement date so wrongly posted mistakes are sorted out in between. When waiting with posting your, say 8 mistakes, until suspension I consider it likely someone else would post those mistakes before you do - at least with such a widespread seen film like this one.

i don't know how the mistake site works. from reading the comments lets see if i have it right. a person can log into mm.com and post-report mistakes in a movie..correct? do they automatically get added to the total? is there some review process from mm.com before adding them? i would hope so. if not then theres difnently a possible problem. if there screened before actually being added to the total then not much HD could do. i guess move the suspend time.

@All
1) the movie mistake site is moderated so a user couldn't game this question by posting "fake" mistakes.
2) I did pull the suspend date back a day anyway (kruijs perhaps in the future you can suspend 24-48 hours prior to settlement?)

yes, fine to me.

I really like reading about the movie "mistakes", and used to be an active participant in these markets.

I did stop making predictions in these markets, after weeks would go by without a single entry, and then -- on the very last day -- several entries would be posted that would move the prediction to the next category.

Several times, entries have been posted on these (different) questions, and then a day or more later, they were deleted (I presume by a "moderator".) Accordingly, it would be possible to have different "winning predictions" on the same settlement date -- depending upon the time of day.

I'm in favor of earlier suspend times on virtually all questions, however an earlier suspend time wouldn't have any effect on the activity I've described.
