Does NOW mean that OSHA has a policy in place to require filing as of July 18, 2008.

My knee jerk prediction is YES... but I like to research all sides... I'm searching google for Crane Safety Facts and Statistics and I am curious to know how many construction cranes operate on a daily basis and the historical safety track record of cranes.

Anyone here with construction knowledge? Anybody have links to share?

We need Epicur!!! Please come back and share your knowledge!!!

There are already a lot of inspections and regulations that OSHA has for cranes!

My personal opinion is that we don't need a whole lot more of these, just compliance with the existing ones...

OSHA requires annual inspection of cranes. Federal law requires inspections be kept but NOT submitted.

was just sitting here thinking first it was a series of people trapped in collapsing mines.
then it was collapsing bridges.
then suddenly cranes falling off buildings became all the rage.
then we had people getting really sick but we didn't know if it was the tomatoes, the jalapenos or something else and of course we could not figure out what or where the tainted mystery food was originating.

wonder what's next.

I dunno, When the Milaukee Brewers Stadium was being built their huge cran collapsed....killed a bunch of workers. OSHA didnt do anything...well u know require more frequent inspections or anything.
Its like elevators and those cute lil certificates that say "passed inspection" ever see an elevator that said "ooopps almost didnt pass this time" certificate?

yeah all those condoms made in china have lead in them....course with the lead u wont need the viagra...

This administration has far more important issues to deal with. Nothing new is going to develop in the next six months. Congress is going to be focused on the economy. OSHA is under the Department of Labor, which has more pressing issues with the rising numbers in the unemployment lines.

This story is well off the front page now and won't be drawing any attention again until there's another big accident... or three.
