Will chess boxing be shown on US television before 2011?

Current forecast: Not shown on US television before 2011 (71% chance)
Combining all predictions, the current most likely outcome is Not shown on US television before 2011 with a probability of 71% (unchanged in last 1 day)

Five years ago, Iepe Rubingh created the sport of chess boxing. Each match consists of eleven alternating rounds - six four-minute rounds of chess and five three-minute rounds of boxing. There is a one-minute break between rounds. The match ends after either a boxing or chess victory.

Last month, 19-year old Russian Nikolai 'The Chairman' Sazhin defeated 37-year old German 'Anti Terror' Frank Stoldt to win the WCBO light-heavyweight title. Sazhin won when Stoldt resigned in the fifth round (a chess round). 1000 fans watched the match in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. WCBO organizers scheduled an event for May 2008 in Los Angeles that would involve US fighters.

I anticipate a fairly high 'no' settlement. That is why the settlement date is 2011.

ESPN will refer to any network with ESPN in its name except ESPN360.

This must refer to a televised match.

@ onedave -- did the event in May, 2008 happen?

(WCBO organizers scheduled an event for May 2008 in Los Angeles that would involve US fighters.)

The only reference to the May, 2008 event were from the WCBO website. However, they do not say that it ever happened.

The following ESPN article, http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=chessboxing, says that a match would be held in either New York or Los Angeles in early 2007.

FYI: Front row seats for the championship in Berlin cost 60 Euros. If you wanted a glass of champagne with your seat, it cost 120 Euros.
