Will all women's beach volleyball players wear bikinis during all their 2008 Olympic matches?
Settled as All players wear bikinis at all matches
No two pieces, or other uniforms seen. No news stories or other media found indicating anything other than bikinis worn.
Background:
Women's beach volleyball players are required to wear bikinis during competitions. However, organizers may relax the rule based on cultural, religious or ethical sentiments.
This rule was recently relaxed at the World Beach Volleyball Tournament when the Indian competitors were allowed to wear t-shirts and long shorts. At the South Pacific Games, women wore shorts and crop tops to not offend the host Samoans. In the 2006 Asian Games, Iraq was the only Muslim country that competed in beach volleyball. Their team, composed of two Christians, wore another type of two-piece uniform.
A t-shirt and shorts will not be considered a two-piece uniform.
