Will the Olympic Games be tremor free?

Settled as Yes

China's seismic monitoring network has detected no signs of a possible strong earthquake in Beijing during the Olympic Games.

Are they right?

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/olympics/2008-07/21/content_6862372.htm

To settle yes, no earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 or above may occur in China from August 8 to August 24.

There is no data for strong earthquake in Beijing during the Olympic Games. Myanmar is far away.
Settled as 'Yes' last Monday 8:06am PDT by mrperfkt[Admin]: Although a quake was reported on August 21st, this appeared to be directly on the border of Myanmar/China

Other news sources have the quake as a 5.9 "IN" China, while the question's background states that a quake must be at least a "6.0 in China"

BEIJING
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake jolted southern China near the border with Myanmar yesterday, killing a woman - one day after another quake damaged homes in the same area, state news media reported. Tens of thousands of people spent the night in a square and on playgrounds after the quake, which destroyed many houses in Yinjiang county, where the quake was centered.

Hey Krujis, I'd lover to wager on this but I have a couple clarifying questions. What constitutes a "strong" earthquake? Is this within a certain radius of Beijing?

@ swilson -- you need to click on the "more background" link in the question, to see *all* of the question.

(I don't like that the Tech Team brought this "feature" back ... I think it is user-unfriendly.)

Sorry, swilson, they changed the display format of the questions recently. I used to put some settlement details in the background text because the settlement details are even lesser visible. But this way it should have been better to put these last two sentences there.
Sorry 'bout the confusion.

Temblor rocks devastated region hours after Olympic torch stop in Chengdu.

I know we've already heard about the tremor, but it happened "hours after the torch stop". I think there is some bad Feng Shui going on somewhere.

Reviewing settlement details. August 21st 6.0 quake is reported on the Myanmar/China border according to this link:

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/us2008vzbb.php#details

The map on the same link makes this appear to be directly on the border.
