Olympics 2008: Will pollution cause ANY event to be cancelled?

Settled as No

No reports found.

Background:

Background: Despite over one and a half million cars off the roads in Beijng, construction halted to a minimum and many of the factories closed in and around Beijing, the pollution is no better than it was weeks ago and we are only two weeks away from The Olympic Games!

Please take a look at these pictures taken just two weeks from the start of the Olympics.

http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-49940

Polution must be cited as the reason for the complete cancelation of one or more events. (If the event is cancelled because the atheletes state that they do not want top compete because of the polution, this will suffice for a 'Yes' settlement, regardless of what the IOC or Chinese Government reports.)

If one or more athletes walk out, but the event is completed, this will settle as 'No'.

This market suspends prior to the opening ceremony.

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source.

In response to the flag on this question, I would assume that algae blooms do not constitute pollution. However, I've sent an email to the question creator asking him to clarify.

When I created the question, I was thinking about, and documented an account or air pollution, specifically. No, air pollution of some type for this market.

For algae bloom predictions, please see:

Your heavy wagering will be greatly appreciated.
