What will be the fate of the Milwaukee man who shot his "Lawn Boy?"

Current forecast: Any other/or nothing happens by November (50% chance11%)
Combining all predictions, the current most likely outcome is Any other/or nothing happens by November with a probability of 50% (up 11% in last 1 day)

Okay, so not the biggest news event of the year, but I couldn't pass up this story and picture!
Proof that liquor and firearms do not mix!

MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee man was accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start. Keith Walendowski, 56, was charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.
According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police quote, "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want."

A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She said he was intoxicated. (nooooo!)

Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted.

A call to Walendowski's home went unanswered Friday morning. (maybe he shot the phone too! hehe)

Does anyone else have the feeling that the quote was edited to delete expletives?
"It's my $#@% lawn mower..."

C'mon people, this poor gentleman was merely excersizing his rights to dispatch an unruly appliance, surely if ANY city in the country could feel lenient I would this it would be the city most associated with breweries. Perhaps he became distraught and was thinking of this market:

Reading the question, I was thinking he shot one of those little statues that some have on their lawn...gotten drunk and thought someone was trespassing...

A lawn mower could be repaired, but not after being shot!

Coulda bought a new mower for what this is gonna cost!

I shot a faulty computer once, but it was at a gravel pit miles away from town. :-) I can sympathize with the guy, but the illegal weapon charge isn't going away. And on his front lawn wasn't a brilliant idea. :-)

"Proof that liquor and firearms do not mix! "
I agree, but have to add this comment.

Check out the names of most government agencies
http://www.usa.gov/Agencies/Federal/All_Agencies/index.shtml
and I dare anybody to find one that sounds like more fun than:
http://www.atf.gov/
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives

(and after researching material for this comment - when did they add "Explosives" to their name????)

In accordance with the Homeland Security Act of 2002, on January 24, 2003, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF or BATF) was transferred from the Department of the Treasury to the Department of Justice. There it became the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, but retained the initials ATF.

Yep...learned something new. Thanks for sharing the info. I think they should add the E...then, maybe call it the Bureau of Firearms, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Explosives --> FATE :)

Now that the lawn is famous, what do you think it would fetch on e-bay? Maybe enough to pay his fine or at least enough to get him a decent haircut?

@buckeyetom - Great idea! I have a feeling that the money might go towards beer money instead...perhaps "Old Milwaukee," just to support the local economy!

I sympathize with him, I GET IT. I can't count how many times I've contemplated Inanimate Objecticide in the privacy of my own home. There should be a passion clause on this and the charges should be dismissed without prejudice.
