Which first? A home or visiting NFL team fakes a kick but attains a 1st down this season?

Settled as Home team gets 1st down after "looking to kick"

Buffalo Bills at 06:42

4-7-SEA 19 (2:26) (Field Goal formation) 8-B.Moorman pass short left to 92-R.Denney for 19 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

Wagers made after the start of this game will be cancelled.

Background:

Although perhaps more common in college ball, occasionally an NFL team will give the appearance that they intend to kick a field goal or punt the ball and instead conduct a rush or pass play typically on a 4th down play in order to attain a 1st down, retain possesion of the ball, advance the ball, score points or simply to keep from turning the ball over to their opponents.

This will NOT settle for yes if a kick appears to have simply been "muffed", such as an incomplete hike of a ball, or a kicker bobbles the ball and then laterals it to another player, or the recovery of a multiple fumble, will only settle for yes if a team takes the field in a typical kicking formation and then deliberately does something other than kick the ball which results in a first down, for them.

Now I have reaffirmed, at least to myself, why I am taking a break from Hubdub.

whats that supposed to mean hubdubbob?

anyhow, i know that the Bears coach likes to pull out at least one trick play per game, and with the Bears special teams being so good he isn't afraid to let them try things. I would be pretty surprised if no one managed to get a first down this year.

@ironman..not speaking for hub-bob, but i believe hub-bob thinks theres to many "non news worthy" questions on HD. i find myself saying "not speaking for" alot these days. its gonna get me yelled at eventually. i can see both sides of the arguement so to speak. NOT SPEAKING FOR destry he also has raised the "non news worthy" deal. if HD banned all "fun" questions the site might lose members or at least have fewer playing as often. if only "straight-hard" news was allowed they would difinetly be fewer questions to bet on. speaking for myself it don't matter to me either way. if i read a question and don't wanna bet on it i move on. the honorable newswrangler is working tonight...wonder what his thoughts are? have a nice day.

Valor is definitely one of our more creative question writers. While this could probably be a little bit more news worthy, in the spirit of kicking off football season, I think it can remain open for now.

I would be more concerned about the reporting of it. While there will be many games to watch, seems like it will be the first identified source to report on this happening to settle.

Good luck!
