Where will the next Hurricane make landfall in the US?

Settled as Louisiana

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT2+shtml/011453.shtml

Background:

So far in 2008 Dolly has been the only Hurricane to make landfall in the US. Dolly made Landfall in Texas on July 23rd.

Texas and Florida are especially vulnerable to Hurricane hits due to their location in the Gulf of Mexico. For some general history in the 2007 season only one Hurricane made landfall, in 2006 none made landfall but in 2005 6 Hurricanes made landfall, one of them being Katrina.

So far Florida's been hit the most, but Texas and Louisiana are also hotspots for landfall.

THE OFFICIAL FORECAST IS IN BEST AGREEMENT WITH
THE GFDL MODEL IN CALLING FOR EDOUARD TO BE NEAR HURRICANE STRENGTH
AT LANDFALL...ALTHOUGH THE REMAINING GUIDANCE IS LESS AGGRESSIVE.
BASED ON THE OFFICIAL FORECAST AND PAST FORECAST ERROR
CHARACTERISTICS...THERE IS ABOUT A 20 PERCENT CHANCE THAT EDOUARD
WILL BE A HURRICANE NEAR THE TIME OF LANDFALL. Noaa Statement.

Eduoard makes landfall as a Tropical Storm. Hurricane force winds are not expected any longer.

I have battened down the hatches. (West Houston) So far, only a light steady rain.
It's weird when the weather person projects a 90% chance of rain. :0

I don't know about the next landfall, but someday Key West is going to end up in Pensacola :-)

Gustav is coming. If your house gets creamed, come to AZ for the Fall and Winter seasons, it only gets hot here and remember you don't have to suck heat out of your carpets.

CNN forecasters estimate the storm -- which weakened to a Category 2 hurricane with winds of 110 mph (177 kph) -- will make landfall around Port Fourchon, Louisiana, where major oil facilities are located. The U.S. Department of Energy says 56 percent of the imported and Gulf of Mexico oil entering the United States passes this point.

Gustav's eye was within 12 miles (19 kilometers) of the shore at 7:30 a.m. (8:30 a.m. ET), according to CNN's Doppler radar. The storm could make landfall shortly after 9 a.m. ET, CNN meteorologists say
