Will the Allen Telescope Array detect a signal from extraterrestrial intelligent life by 2020?
Current forecast: 30% chance

Combining all predictions, the current forecast is that this is 30% likely to happen (unchanged in last 1 day)
The Allen Telescope Array is a cluster of radio dishes that work together as a single giant antenna. Sited in California and partly funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and colleague Nathan Myhrvold, it will be used simultaneously for traditional radio astronomy, and in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. But will it really find aliens? For more, see: http://www.seti.org/seti/projects/ata/
Settlement details:
Settled by an announcement from California's SETI Institute of the unequivocal detection of a signal from space that could only be of intelligent origin.
