Adelaide and North Melbourne today confirmed the receipt of letters threatening stars Andrew McLeod and Nathan Thompson earlier this year.

“The Adelaide Football Club can confirm that one of its players was the subject of a threatening letter sent to the club earlier this season,” the Crows said in a statement.
“The letter was forwarded to Crows chief executive officer Steven Trigg in May this year and passed on to police.
“Police investigations are continuing and at this stage there will be no further comment.”
North Melbourne communications co-ordinator John Murphy said Thompson's threat had also been forwarded to police.
“The North Melbourne Football Club can confirm that Nathan Thompson received a threatening letter earlier this season,” he said.
“The letter was forwarded to North Melbourne chief executive Eugene Arocca, who passed it on to police.
