Ethno-historian questions gruesome slaying's connection to Windigo article
Police are now probing whether Vince Li - accused of killing, butchering and cannibalizing his Greyhound seat-mate - may have acted criminally after reading about a cannibalistic spirit in the newspapers he delivered.
Edmonton ethno-historian Nathan Carlson shared his expertise on the Windigo phenomenon with Portage La Prairie RCMP yesterday.
Hoping to clear his conscience, Carlson contacted RCMP, advising them of the potential link between the article and the Greyhound slaying. Officers working at the Portage la Prairie RCMP station were receptive to his concerns and told Carlson they would take his information seriously.
