Fall TV Death Watch: Which of these shows will be cancelled first?

Settled as My Own Worst Enemy

MOWE Now Officiall Cancelled
http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/11/nbc-cancels-ene.html

Background:

Background: Most of them haven't even premiered yet, but can you guess which will be the first to get the ax? Current Fall Schedule

90210 CW September 2
The nostalgia is exciting many reviewers, but the show has not been screened to anyone raising fears its gonna be awful.

Hole in The Wall FOX September 11
I can't remember the last time I watched an ad 5 times in a row. This show looks absolutely HILARIOUS although I'm somewhat curious as to how many episodes it can hold my attention.

Gary Unmarried CBS September 24
I can only imagine that they had a 3 year old write the pilot because all the other writers were on strike. Ick. What happened to the happy (actually funny) sitcoms like Everyone Loves Raymond?

Knight Rider NBC September 24
I have fond memories of the first, but I don't think I want to be reminded of how awful it was. The TV movie did ok ratings wise, but I'm not convinced people will stick around for a full length series.

The Ex List CBS October 3
This feels like a backwards "How I Met Your Mother" but I love that, so why would I complain about a similar show? I won't! They're really going to have to work on a plot for season two though they may not get the chance starting out in the dreaded Friday night slot.

Kath & Kim NBC October 9
I will always love Selma Blair for Legally Blond, but I don't think its going to be enough to save the show. It may be number one in Australia, but comedy frequently doesn't translate overseas.

Eleventh Hour CBS October 9
The British version with Patrick Stewart was a winner.. a US remake without the Captain? Meh. Sounds like a Num3ers ripoff to me anyway.

My Own Worst Enemy NBC October 13
Anyone else thinking True Lies here? They're bringing in big screen talent, so clearly the network is trying to really give it a go, but that also means the budget is pretty big so they'll need a lot more than mediocre ratings to keep it around. The good news? It follows Chuck and Heroes making Monday officially my favorite day of the week.

Crusoe NBC October 17
The scenery looks evocative of Lost but without the storyline or compelling characters.

Settlement details:If two or more shows are announced to be canceled on the same day, we will double settle.

Since we could go with both a common sense definition of "canceled" (ie when a show is yanked off the air) and a legalistic one (when the network officially sends out a PR release saying something has been canceled), this market will settle on Hole in the Wall which was the first to be yanked and then re-settle whenever the first official cancellation comes in.

Is this first by date or by fewest number of episodes aired?
posted 1 year ago
By date, that's why I included the premiere dates at the top. Personally by episode, I think Crusoe might be the first to go, but it doesn't premiere until mid October, so maybe something else will go first by this market.

I'm digging the fall preview questions. Thanks.

I'm torn between hole in the wall and the ex list since it is by date. both have crappy timeslots.

Yeah, I went with "Hole in the Wall".

@Jenni

Create a question about whether or not "The Middleman" will return for a 2nd season or not. (I hope it does.) It is currently on ABC Family. This season has been lowered from 13 to 12 episodes, I believe, so there is some speculation it will not return for a 2nd season..... but perhaps it will on some network, if not ABC Family. The first season is winding down. I believe the first season ends on September 1st.

@hubdubbob - Uumm.. does it appear that I have a monopoly on tv questions? I assure you, I would be more than happy to allow you to do the question yourself!

Has anyone looked at Gary Unmarried? Ugh. (that's where my money is going in 10 hours)

@jenni

I was hoping you would create a question about "The Middleman", since you do a great job with the Entertainment section, etc.

Anyways.... I created a market question regarding whether or not, etc. "The Middleman" will return for a 2nd season.

Hole in the wall is currently in hiatis not canceled. They still have a bunch of episodes and may air them in the summer. No more will be made though.

I don't understand.. how could this market settle twice? Reading your links, it seems clear to bloggers/experts the shows have been cancelled, but what happens with finished episodes? Airing three out of eleven (see Ex-List) looks like bad business to me.
