Who will win BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2008?

Settled as Chris Hoy

Triple Olympic gold medal-winner Chris Hoy is BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2008. "This means so much," says cyclist Hoy, who goes on to point out what an incredible year it has been all-round for British sport. None of his family are there as his sister has just given birth up in Scotland! They will certainly be there in spirit.
"This is a culmination of 12 years's hard work for me," finishes the proud new uncle and SPOTY 2008 winner.
Second place is F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton...
Third place goes to swimmer Rebecca Adlington.

Not sure the BBC will be too happy to see the award go to an ITV program...but Hamilton hasnt been out of the news since his win which came at the right time for this. Adlington and Hoy were amazing but as Hill and Mansell have shown (both 2 time winners) motor racing is popular with those who vote for this award.

I really hope Rebecca Adlington does win it... Lewis Hamilton probably wouldn't even leave his swiss chalet to pick up the award!

lewis Hamilton has had quite negative publicity because of his decision to move to Switzerland to spend more time with his money.

You wait years and years for a British sporting victory and then two come along at once! (Olympics and Lewis Hamilton) Hamilton was amazing but after the excellent Olympics we had I hope Chris Hoy or Rebecca Adlington win.
