'Gender' of final hurricane crossing onto US soil in 2008?

Current forecast: Last named Hurricane had a male name (94% chance1%)
Combining all predictions, the current most likely outcome is Last named Hurricane had a male name with a probability of 94% (down 1% in last 1 day)

Back in the day Hurricanes were only given female names, this was not very nice so the custom was adjusted, these days the pre-arranged names for Hurricanes in the greater Atlantic area alternate between male names and female names; however some difficult letters are not used; Q, U, X, Y & Z.

This is a complete toss up, which gender name do you think will match the last hurricane to cross a US state beach or border by 11/30/08?

So far the following names have been used:

M - Arthur
F - Bertha
M - Cristobal
F - Dolly
M - Edouard
F - Fay
M - Gustav

Remaining and available for use this year are:

F - Hanna
M - Ike
F - Josephine
M - Kyle
F - Laura
M - Marco
F - Nana
M - Omar
F - Paloma
M - Rene
F - Sally
M - Teddy
F - Vicky
M - Wilfred

Settlement details: As reported by a major mainstream news source. Eye must cross onto US beach or boder and must be a hurricane at some point during the time its eye is on US beach or border.

What if its a gender neutral name such as alex, or sam?

@ autotom

Thank you for your note, actually this resolution is fairly straightforward, the assigned names alternate between male & female, ambiguous names can easily be determined by looking at the names on either side for example Gustavo (male) is followed by Hanna (female), followed by Ike (male), etc.

presumably you mean "the eye crosses over soil", and TSes which used to be hurricanes don't count.

@yonemoto - yes, eye must cross onto US beach or boder and must be a hurricane at some point during the time its eye is on US beach or border.
