Due to the market not having the same suspend date and the author's intent to be asking about 2008 the market may remain open. The suspend date is different on this one (ends in 2008) I think I'm getting what Curios's has been trying to do. So we can keep this market up. He was accidentally putting 2009 as the year instead of 2008 in the market question.

If this ends at the end of 08, can't people make money by predicting no the day before? Or yes if it does happen?

@clahey...as long as anybody predicts the outcome before it happens they win. if you make a prediction after it happens the bet is voided..ie your money returned with no prophet.

@clahey..yes you can predict the day before the settlement is made on some questions. when it gets closer to the end of 08 money will pour into the market. i've been burned 3 times doing that. lets say dec 30 you bet $5,000 on no. then on the 31st they evict her..bye bye $5,000.

15:10 GMT, Wednesday, 10 September 2008 16:10 UK. And if you do it now, why the bets which are been made it after this date aren't voided?

you will notice (elly and kruijs) i never made a wager, it lost me when no one voided as fof noted on #1 the one that made him cross eyed i asked and asked and asked it was allowed to float i hope you both said yes

Yes, there is some misunderstanding here. I flagged for applying prediction cut-off, because my bets are dated after the cited article and I think that this is the correct way for settlement.

I looked into just about 5 minutes ago and it seems that the prediction cut-off didn't go through for this market. It should have canceled all predictions after the 10th of September but when I input the settlement time, it didn't work. I think it defaulted to 2009, September 10th because I settled it in 09 and not 08. Or I may have just fouled up when putting the time in. I have a feeling it's the latter :-(

Anyway though I've redone the settlement so everyone who had predictions made after the 10th of September have had there funds returned. Apologies for not understanding what people were on about at first, but thanks for replying back to let me better understand.

Have users received emails stating that your predictions on the market were now canceled?
