Background:
Between Ted Kennedy, Patrick Swayze, John McCain, and Christina Applegate, cancer has been in news a lot lately. Tonight, a telethon designed to turn the tide on cancer research will air across all the major networks. There are enough stars for an award show already lined up and more being announced daily. Past major telethons, such as the ones hosted after Katrina, have raised 30-40 million dollars whereas the past American Idol fundraiser garnered closer to 80 million. How much will this one raise? More

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source at least one week after the airing of the show to account for later donations.
