When will John McCain visit areas impacted by Hurricane Gustav?

Settled as McCain does not visit by Septemeber 7th

Could not find reports indicating McCain visited any affected areas

Background:

See Related Market

It took Bush just over 24 hours to visit after Katrina -- because he was celebrating John McCain's birthday with him. McCain will likely take this opportunity to distance him self further from the tragedy of Katrina and show the more compassionate side of his administration, but the timing of the RNC will make this tricky. Above all, they can't afford the PR disaster of appearing to "party" while a large major city is in ruins.

i doubt bush didn't go to katrina earliar because he was celebrating mccain's b-day. (hey john one of the worst natural disaster's in american history is unfolding, but i'll stay and eat b-day cake with you) it just so happen thats what he was doing at the time. i would think having a sitting prez visit a devastated area ASAP would cause more harm than good. did bush on anybody else no how bad katrina would damage La? i didn't see a bunch of "high profile" dem's rushing to La. how long did it take hillary to go to the WTC after 9/11? lets say bush was there 2 hours after..would the levee's not of broke? i guess obama took a beating on HD now it's the republican's turn.

Bush basically announced this morning that he wouldn't be going to either the RNC or to Louisiana right now....he (wisely, for once) said that his presence would be a distraction prior to the storm's arrival . . .

So now that McCain's made such a wonderful VP decision, how will he politically play what may unfold in South Louisiana...he may be showing everyone just how much of a political animal he is afterall...

@dd - Well, yes turnabout is fairplay, but no I didn't really mean that Bush thought the party was more important than the hurricane. However, everyone agrees that Katrina wasn't handled well and the image of Bush eating birthday cake while people were drowning is a searing one and was repeated often in the media. However unfairly.
