According to the HPC, the US location receiving the most rain from Gustav is in which state?

Settled as Louisiana

As per set. details and HPC Franklin Louisiana received the most rainfall at 20 inches.

http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/tropical/GUSTAV/GUSTAV_45.html

Background:

On September 1, Hurricane Gustav made landfall in Louisiana. It is expected to slow down and then stall in eastern Texas. Torrential rain is forecast for Louisiana and Texas.

This market will close when the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC) issues its last public advisory for Gustav or his remnants. The HPC generally does not issue an advisory until the National Hurricane Center issues its final advisory.

The HPC's advisories for Fay, Edouard and Dolly are given at: http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/tropical/tropstorms.shtml

sorry onedave, I think this is an interersting question, but the wording is convoluted. Unless you have a good site for posting which city , in which state receives the most rain, it is not likely to be something that is reported.... I looked at your site, but didnt see all the detail. do you have a site, which lists rainfall in each city from particular hurricanes? that can answer it?

I think they might say this state receives this much rain, etc. etc. but that is not what your question says. Perhaps I am wrong.. hope so.
