Will instant replay be used to determine or challenge a call in the 2008 World Series

Settled as No

No instant replays used

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps.jsp

Background:

Background: On August 30th, all parks began using instant replay to determine calls for three events:

1. Fair or foul (for homeruns)
2. If the ball actually left the playing field
3. To determine spectator interference.

In the 2007 ALCS several balls that were hit were debated on whether or not they were homeruns. Will the introduction of instant replay be used in this year's World Series to determine any call according to the current rules?

Settlement details:As reported by a major mainstream news source.

It's a BRAND NEW TOY! Of course they are going to use it....! Wouldn't you?

My feeling is that they will not use it, simply for principle. The World Series always have 2 extra umpires on the field and that should help any controversial call. By the way moderator, we are talking about the World Series, NOT the playoffs, right?

Yes. ALCS, NLCS, etc do not count. Only the 4 to 7 games of the world series count in determining the answer to this question.

I've edited this question to suspend prior to the start of game 1.
Good luck!
