What will be the sex of Tiger Wood's baby?

Current forecast: Boy (50% chance)
Combining all predictions, the current most likely outcome is Boy with a probability of 50% (unchanged in last 1 day)

ORLANDO, Fla. — Even with his golf done for the year, Tiger Woods found something to celebrate Tuesday: His wife is pregnant with their second child.

Woods said on his Web site that Elin is expecting in late winter without being more specific on a due date.

He has not played since his U.S. Open victory in June, and two weeks later had reconstructive surgery on his left knee that put him out for the year. Woods' first child, daughter Sam, was born the Monday after the 2007 U.S. Open.

"Elin is feeling great and we are both thrilled," Woods said. "While my injury has been disappointing and frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time watching Sam grow. I can't begin to tell you how rewarding it is being a dad and spending time with her and Elin.

"The injury has been a blessing and a disappointment."

The world No. 1 player has begun rehabilitation and has traveled recently to Dubai and New York for business projects.

Woods had said after he married in 2004 that he wanted more than one child. Woods was an only child, while Elin has a twin sister.

well bananaman22 you have peaked my curiosity, can you tell me why 50-50 isn't fair.

I googled it and came across this link showing 51-49 in favor of boys. Then if you scroll down in families with a girl as first child, 54% of time boy is second child. Here is the link:http://www.in-gender.com/XYU/Odds/Gender_Odds.aspx
I will admit this is first time I had looked into it.

im just being picky btw. its just stress.. you can try seraching it up online. but scientifically the female is more likely by 5% or thereabouts. (wouldnt make a big deal to the starting %)

it shud be an intersting read. i forgot whether its because of the durability of the X chromosome or something else.. gahhhh lucky its not on my test

pretty on the ball eh. im also here. but i can recall quite clearly in a scientific article it slants towards the females. but that article looks pretty convincing too. ill look around more actively after my mcat! your brought up an interesting fact because one of my female friends always says that girls are better than guys because of the more females vs guys...

pls let me know if u find any more info about this! lol whether it supports the 50-50, more guys or more girls. lol

When I googled it there were alot of articles talking about the ethics behind people being able to choose the sex of their child with some new procedures. Then it would be interesting to see what would happen. I imagine most families that had a boy the first time would select to have a girl the second, and vice versa. Definitely an interesting subject. Makes you wonder if people could choose the sex of their baby if it would make any impact on number of children born. Would families that had a boy and a girl be more likely to have a 3rd, or do families with two boys or two girls, hoping for a 3rd of the opposite sex have the 3rd child.

i havent been able to find anything that proves that females are more likely. perhaps males are more likely after all =)

but 42% of females is a good deal i guess lol =P hahahaha

yes. its pretty good knowledge for future family planning too since i came across some websites which i didnt really trust with their "timing of intercourse so that the sperms with the "WANTED" chromsomes swim towards the fallopian tube at the right time"

err damn fallopian tube right!? the freaking ovum better be in the fallopian tube or im failing this test..

thanks for the good wishes! ill try my best. but if its anything like my record on hubdub...

i think i better find a way to "game" if i wanna do welll. LOL kidding

Heh ... some friends of mine had two girls. They wanted a boy, so they 'went for it'. Had another girl.
"Well, what are the chances...", they asked... and planned for yet another. Girl !

With four girls, they rolled the dice, and had a boy!

"Wouldn't it be nice for baby 'John' to have a brother to play with", they said, and 'went again'.

Bingo! Another girl!

End of story ;-)
