Cute! Will one of the computer companies please give their staff the day off, so that they can count on their fingers and try to calculate this...? It's beyond my puny little mind.

I find it particularly interesting that, despite the extraordinarily high rate of inflation, they can calculate it to the nearest 1/10th of one percent, resulting in the current rate of 11,268,758.9%.

of course, by the time one has actually typed 8 digits, 2 commas, a decimal point, a final fraction, and a percent sign, the answer will be out by several hundred percent :>

and it gets worse: unofficially, the inflation rate in Zim is now 531 BILLION percent per annum....

Perhaps it is time to kill this on grounds of sheer inadequacy. But of course there may not actually be a reported inflation rate between now and year end, in which case 11 million percent still settles it....

UPDATE: Officially, it's not 231 MILLION PERCENT in July ...

There haven't been any new inflation statistics from Zimbabwe since July. It can't be good news, though.
