In 1901, Emil von Behring was awarded the first Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on serum therapy, particularly for its use in the treatment of diphtheria. The Nobel Prize in Medicine has subsequently highlighted a number of important discoveries including penicillin, genetic engineering and blood-typing.

Nominations for 2008
197 names were submitted for the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize, 33 of which are organizations. The Nobel Committees in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and the Prize Committee for Economics each usually receives 250-300 names every year. Official Clarification: In the case where the prize is awarded to more than one person, this question will be settled.

In the case of a discrepancy between the country of origin and country of wor of the winner I would suggest that the question should be settled for the region in which the work was carried out.

What if the prize is awarded to several laureates from two (or more) different regions?

the "multiple regions" option is missing, you're right.
but, though it might happen that the prize is awarded to more than one person, it is not very likely that these persons are from different regions.
in case it would, maybe the question would simply be voided or dubble settled - to be decided by the category editor.

It has definitely happened before that Americans and Europeans have shared the Nobel Prize in the same category for different research leading to results in the same field. The "more than one region" option should be here, unless the cat editor agrees to settle either region as acceptable.

In the case where the prize is awarded to more than one person, this question will be double settled.

In the case of a discrepancy between the country of origin and country of wor of the winner I would suggest that the question should be settled for the region in which the work was carried out.
