What will the EIA release as the price of regular gasoline in Texas on September 15,2008
Settled as '$3.60 or greater' as price for regular gas in Houston was $3.692, up from $3.432 last week
Background:>
OK, we all know prices have been going down, but when you're expecting a major storm to affect your areas, prices shoot back up, sometimes dramatically. Here in Mississippi when Gustav was coming close recently, we saw prices go up 20-30¢ in one day. Looked like price gouging to many of us.
Now Ike is coming directly into the Texas coast, near the major city of Houston. How will that area of Texas react in the pricing of gasoline? How much will affect the data regarding this week's prices as released by the Energy Information Administration on Monday, September 15?
Previous results for 'regular' gasoline
8/25 $3.494
9/01 $3.516 (may have gone up for Gustav)
9/08 $3.519

Oil drops under $100 and we still see the price of gas going up!
Just wanted to say that in your background information you show the price of regular gasoline on 9/8/2008 to be $3.496. That was the price of "All Grades-Reformulated Areas".
The price of "Regular" was already at $351.9 for the state of Texas. Just wanted to mention it.
You be safe and keep the DJIA's coming!
Just put some of that go-juice in my car...what was $3.35 before Gustav 2 weeks ago is now $3.75...went up about 20¢ since Thursday...
I know the gas companies have to make a profit (we all know how low their profits have been so far this year) but isn't this ridiculous...prices jumping immediately on speculation and when the worst fears turn out not to be true, they never come down as fast, if at all...
And it's not just how it affects us at the pump for our own vehicles...all the goods we purchase, and the services provided by schools and cities are affected by the price of gasoline, a price so often not associated with the normal issues of supply and demand, but as a result of speculation...
D*mn the speculators!!

Plus...this question is for their reporting for the state of Texas...there is another set of data they will release regarding the city of Houston
